Grace Abounding
My God is good. I just spent the holy week in Sacred Heart Novitiate in Novaliches as I always had in the past five or so years. And every year, my experience has been unique, unmatched, unequaled. This year, what was different was that I did not come as a directee/retreatant but as a director. I was happy to have been given this privilege to journey with another. It has been a very beautiful experience.
I would describe my experience as a retreat companion as one of being on a holy ground. Maybe similar to how Moses experienced it before the burning bush. The ground you are stepping on is so sacred that you are consumed with awe and reverence. That was how I felt. I was struck, stirred, and moved.
During this retreat, God affirmed me again, and again, and again, and again. And it was liberating. It was freeing. It was beautiful. God constanly reminds me just to TRUST HIM. That he has plans for me — like a good boss, sharing with his protege his plans for his protege’s “career”; in my case, my mission, my work. Before I came out of the program, God told me he has a surprise for me. Today, I think he gave me the surprise I sort of hoping he would give me. Finally, I got accepted in Bayard Publication. I already have the ideal job, wherein I’d be able to work spread God’s love, earn an income, and still study. What a God!
